Here is a recap of what happened in the search forums today...
Google seems to be testing a new design for how Google Image search shows you previews of images after you click on the result. The hard thing about tracking Google Images is that different countries and regions have different interfaces, I believe because of local laws. But I believe this is a new interface.
A few months ago, Google introduced the Indexing API specifically for job posting URLs. It is hopeful to some that Google will open it up for more reasons. But Google's John Mueller said on Twitter "I don't think that's coming anytime soon."
Google's John Mueller said that Google does not favor fresh content over I guess stale content. Although earlier this week, Google's John Mueller said they do crawl fresh content pages more often, but crawling and ranking are separate.
Google has announced that the new beta Google Search Console is now getting the link report. Google said they are moving the Links to your site and Internal Links report from the old interface into the new Google Search Console under a single Links report. I do not see it rolled out yet but it should be live soon, Google says.
Google said that it is okay and even normal to have the same image placed on more than one page on your web site. This implies it does not hurt your rankings in Google to share an image, even if the image file name is different but the image is the same, on multiple pages throughout your web site.
